Smok AL85 Kit Review

If you have been eyeing on the Smok Alien 220W but wants something handy, then give the Smok AL85 kit a try. It basically has all the same incredible specs and features as the Alien, except for the power output and battery life. You read that right. Performance, ergonomics, and quality… name it and the Smok AL85 has it.

Dubbed as the ‘Alien Baby’, the Smok AL85 measures just 71 mm y 48 mm by 27 mm. This compact system is very suitable for those who are always on the go but are still craving for the “flavor” of the Smok Alien. This mod is run by a single high-amp 18650 removable battery with a top-loaded battery cap. Now, while many find removable batteries a hassle, it can be beneficial at some points. Removable batteries guarantee that they are fresh over time, and you can always keep an extra so you can still go vaping without charging.

The Smok AL85 mod has a power output from 1 watt to 85 watts. Its temperature control ranges between 200F and 600F, and voltage from 0.35 volts to 8 volts. It can support Ni200, titanium, and stainless steel heating elements. It features different memory modes too as well as initial wattage boosts settings and drawing effects.
Just like its larger cousin, the AL85 has a clear and huge OLED screen. This displays important information about the mod’s current status. Data available include wattage, mode temperature, battery life, voltage, amps, ohms, internal board temperature, puffs, and puffs duration. You may find it cluttered and overwhelming at first, but once you get used to it, you’ll realize how convenient all these data are made available in just a click.

The same as the Smok Alien, the AL85 also features firing panel instead of the small firing button. Aside from the fact that it makes gripping way lot better and easier, it can also serve as a safety feature. Although it really does not always happen, sometimes we accidentally press the firing button when we hold the mod in our hands or leave them squeezed on our tight pockets.

Despite its size, the Smok AL85 can still suffice the needs of cloud lovers and taste critics, thanks to the infamous TFV8 Baby Beast tank. This 510-threaded tank system has an excellent airflow control and hinged top-fill systems. It is made from stainless steel and can store up to 3 ml of your favorite e-juice.

Speaking of e-juice, if you have not found the perfect flavor for your taste buds yet, then I suggest you try the premium American-made blends from Halo. They offer a variety of flavors ranging from tobacco and menthol to gourmet and desserts. This award-winning e-liquid brand commits to bring the best of the best from its products. Excited now? There are four flavors up for grabs – Kringle’s Curse, Mystic Menthol, Tribeca, and Twisted Turnover. I’m a menthol lover, so Mystic Menthol is obviously my bet. Get them for as low as NZD $29.99 (30 ml) at NZ Ecig Store. They come in different nicotine strengths as well.

If you make good use of the TFV8 Q2 coil heads included in the kit, they will allow you to get an optimal vape at 50 to 55 watts. This gives you more power left over. Smoktech coils tend to have their own special turbo design that draws air up to maximize both flavor and vapor. As mentioned earlier, don’t worry about its size as it can surely produce more than enough vapor and deliver pure juice taste that even its larger competitors cannot match.

The Smok AL85 also has an adjustable airflow. This can be set from the base using dual controls. It also comes with a black, extra-wide Delrin tip, which allow you to produce super thick clouds and at the same time protect your lips from burning. Delrin is a kind of thermoplastic or heat-resistant material that prevents hot vapor from being absorbed by the device. Again, this is a pretty cool feature especially on instances when the machine is accidentally set to the highest setting.

For a price of NZD $84.90, you can already get an entire Smok AL85 kit that includes an AL85 mod, a TFV8 Baby Tank, a pre-installed V8 Baby-Q2 core 0.4 ohm coil, a V8 Baby-Q2 core (0.6 ohm dual coils), a USB charging cable, and a user manual. The mod has 18 different colors to choose from such as black/champagne gold, black/gun metal, black/red, and silver. Hit nzecigstore.co.nz now while supplies last!
